Between baby shower invitations, thank you cards, and decorating our nursery, my creativity has taken on a whole new level over the past few months. The first decorations I came up with for the nursery were the alphabet blocks. For $10 I was able to make some really cute artwork with what I already had in my craft room. The top cube spells the name, "Lyric". The other cube has the ABC'S and a monkey on one side, and the other cube has the numbers, "1,2,3" with a button as decoration. I decoupaged the paper on with Mod Podge. It was a great weekend project and it kind of kicked off my obsession this month to make some more artwork for the nursery.

The next order of business was trying to figure out how to decorate this big pink rectangle that is painted on the nursery wall. The walls were already painted pink when we moved in, so we didn't want to change anything. After some internet searching and thinking, I got the idea to use alphabet flash cards for decoration. Now, I could go down to Michael's and buy a card set for $5 from K & Company, but instead, the crafter in me decided to make my own set. I'm only up to the letter G right now, but so far I am very happy with how they have turned out. I think I've worked my Cricut to death this month between the baby shower and cutting out letters for these cards. Once they're finished, I will hang them with clothespins from wire in 3 or 4 rows on the wall above the dresser.

The last piece of artwork that was fun to make, was a picture frame that has been sitting in my closet for 2 1/2 years. I got the idea to add the letters from a clock I had seen in one of my scrapbook magazines. Instead of placing a picture in the middle, I decided to make my own piece of art to display. Once again, I used green, blue, and pink. With all the pink in the room, I need my favorite colors, green and aqua to balance it out a bit. I just used letters that had been sitting around and weren't getting used. I dumped them out on the frame and once I turned them over, I glued them randomly to the frame. It took me less than 10 minutes once I had figured out what to do. Sometimes I feel like the thinking process for my projects takes forever until I know exactly what I want to do.
